Today's battlefield systems provide our soldiers with an overwhelming amount of digital data. While dismounted the issue of displaying this data to the user remains an issue. Bright sunlight, night time operations light discipline, weight, power all become important factors. The TAC-EYE display system takes all of these factors into account.
Originally designed for the US Military, this display system was built with the Warfighter in mind. Ultra low power electronics drive this display, which can run for up to 10 hours on 4 AA lithium batteries. Brightness controls allow the operator to change for the conditions, daylight to darkness. It's high contrast SVGA (800x600) display is perfect for imaging from a wearable computer, laptop, or vehicle mounted computer system.
The TAC-EYE also has a custom mount, specifically designed for the Panasonic Toughbook® 18 notebook. It's Magnesium construction keeps the TAC-EYE strong and under 3 oz (85g). The battery/control unit allows for one handed operation and also houses the connections for VGA and RS-170 video, ready to accept just about any video source from thermal imagers, to wearable computers. Optionally, the display can be powered through a standard USB port, when batteries are not available.
